. -v ■ JOCKEY ABEL FINED 00 LATOXIA, Ky., June 11. — The stewards fined jockey A. Abel 00 for violating rule 17C of the Kentucky Racing Code, which seta the fees that shall l c paid a Jockey for riding in a race. According to the stewards, "Abel was dissatisfied with the fee of 5 for a winning mount and asked for a stake of 00 additional, stating- that he usually received the latter whenever he rode a winner." The stewards said further "that he also told the trainer of the horse that he would not make any future engagements with him except with that understanding." Abel pleaded that lie did not know that ha was violating any rule in asking for the additional stake or in refusing to engage himself in the absence of it.
