MASSACHUSETTS MEETINGS Edward Brennan Racing Secretary at Brookline and Framing-ham — Three Days Racing. BALTIMORE, Md., June 11.— Edward Brennan, a native Baltimorean, was recently appointed racing secretary and handicapper of the June 1G and June 18 meeting at the Brookline Country Club, Brookline, Mass., and also the meeting on June 20 at Fram-lngham, Mass. Brennan has been associated with the Maryland Jockey Club for many years and is racing secretary at Cumberland, Md., which annually opens Marylands fall season in August. He succeeds Frank J. Bryan, who is recovering from a recent illness. The new secretary at Brookline, which Is one of Americas most popular hunts meetings, is a protege of Bryan, one of Americas best-known handicappers of the thoroughbred. When Bryan found is impossible to be active at Brookline and Framingham next month, he recommended that Brennan bt Jelegated to his task. William Doyle of Laurel, Md., who rode Effendi to victory in the 1909 Preakness, and Freddie Parks of Timonium, Md., both capable turfmen and who have served as placing judges, clerk of scales and other positions on Maryland tracks, will be associated with Brennan at the Massachusetts meetings. Both flat and steeplechase races will be held at Brookline. Entries close on Friday with Edwar Brennan, 533 Equitable Building, Baltimore, Md. Entries for Framingham close on June 15. J. Fred Adams of Catonsville, Md., whose Gracie, a daughter of Foreground — Lazuli, won the Billy Barton Steeplechase over the three-mile course at Pimlico, is shipping the mare to Brookline to compete in next monthe races. Numerous other sportsmen in this section will patronize the Massachusetts meetings, which promise to be the best In years.
