NO MORE DELAWARE RACING WILMINGTON, Del., June 12.— There will be no horse races at the Klsmere Fair Grounds today, following the ruling by Attorney-General Clarence Southerland that organized gambling on horse racing in the i state of Delaware must cease. The fifteen days meeting, which opened at Elsmere Saturday, was canceled after the seventh race Monday. John J. Carr, manager of the Elsmere Exhibitors and Breeders Association, announced from the I judges stand, on behalf of the association, that the promoters thought it advisable to end the meeting. Mr. Southerland had a conference with the i promoters in his office this morning and informed ■ them that the "surplus system of ! betting" was illegal. He declared this system • was merely a subterfuge by which the I gambling elements sought to evade the laws i of Delaware, and served notice that his i agents would arrest every person at the track : receiving bets.
