SOCTIIEKN KISS, away well and clear of interference, forced the pace to the stretch turn, then, challenging CLUTTER, took the lead and outfinished MARABOU. The latter was taken back sharply after the start but, saving ground on the inside, closed a big gap and finished fast. FAIR l.AKK began slowly, but gained gradually while racing on the outside and finished well. McKIM was crowded back at the start, hut closed an immense gap. MAC FOGLE met with much interference while going the first, half mile and was well back of the leaders, but. finding a clear course in the stretch, came like a flash getting up to win drawing clear. JESSIE CAREY began fast, showed good speed to near the end and was outfinished. EATONDEN saved ground while racing on the inside and moved up strongly in the stretch. SCAKI.ET BRIGABS showed the most early speed to the stretch turn, tired and lost the lead, but held on well. DARE DEVIL raced wide all the way and tired. POST DISPATCH was in close pursuit of PAIGB and THISTLE GLAD to the stretch and, then, getting tlirouuh on the in.-ide. wore them down gamely, but just got up to win in the final strides. THISTLE .LAD disposed of PAIGB in the first half mile, then raced into a good lead, but tired and was bearing out badly in the stretch. PAIGB set the early pice briefly and, after being passed, ri ed well to tie end. EI. IAS O. made up ground in the stretch. BREAST Il.ATK ran poorly SENTIMENTAL TOMMIE quit. DAVIS forced tbc early pace and passed THERESA JOAN into the lead, but was tiring in the final drive. TORCH began fast, was close up, but was forced to race wide on the outside. MEKNES raced into the lead soon after the start, displayed much the most speed, but tired badly In the last sixteenth and barely managed to outstay SHASTA LAD. The latter was outpaced for the first half mile, but, getting through between the leaders in the stretch, closed a big gap and just missed wearing down the winner. PRISONER raced close up, but found the pace too fast and tired and was lucky to be third. PATSY JANE had no mishaps and made a game finish. The others were outpaced. BATTLE FIELD raced far back in the early stages, but saved ground when gaining gradually and closed a big gap. TICKER ran well for three-quarters. FAUSTO also made up much ground.
