THE HUGUENOT, taken back repeatedly in the first half mile worked his way up steadily on the inside after reaching the stretch and got up to win going away. MASTER WALTER showed the most speed from the start and was on the firmest going, but began tiring after going five-eighths. SCIPIO was away slowly and raced over the deepest going to the stretch, then tired in the final drive. ROBERT MAXWELL began tiring after reaching the stretch. FLAG LIEUTENANT ran poorly. JUDGE MURPHY raced into the lead in the first quarter, then drew away steadily to the stretch, where he held his advantage under stout restraint. NAISHAPUR raced wide, but elose up to the stretch where, after meeting with interference from GLENNO, he gamely outfinished the latter. GLENNO began slowly, but raced into closest pursuit with a rush on the last turn, then swerved badly in the stretch. BATHER finished gamely. Bit; BROTHER showed early speed. TOMMY was done early. The latter raced close up from the start and saved ground on the last turn while closing up gamely in the last quarter. IRISH RUINS was hard ridden and took the lead on the last turn, then began tiring after reaching the final three-sixteenths. BRUNELL had no mishaps. BBUNETH, forced back sharply in the first three-eighths, could not get to the leaders afterwards. MOLLIE MYHII.L was raced over the worst going and tired early. STABS AND STRIPES also moved up fast coming to the stretch and tired after reaching the last eighth. WOLFY. unprepared at the start and as good as left, made up ground to the final quarter, where he tired. POLICEMAN DAY sho.ved good early speed.
