PROSPECTS FOR FORT ERIE Excellent Program Arranged for Meeting Beginning July 4 and Ending July 11. POUT ERIK. Ont, June 13— Books for the 1928 Fort Brie spring meeting, which will take place at the course across the river from Buffalo starting Wednesday, July 4, and running to Wednesday, July 11, are being distributed. Racing secretary Eugene W. Bury has arranged an excellent list of events for the seven days of racing, the outstading features being the Statler Hotel Handicap, with ,000 in added money, and the Dominion Handicap, with ,000 in added money. The renewal of the Statler Hotel Handicap will take place on opening day. This event is for three-year-olds and upward over the mile and a sixteenth route. Manager Green of the Statler Hotel will donate a handsome ; silver cup to the owner of the winning horse, this being an annual custom. This years Dominion Handicap, scheduled to be run on the closing day of the meeting, ."Wednesday, July 11, should, like the Statler Handicap, attract a great field of handicap horses. The Dominion Handicap will be run over the mile and a sixteenth route and is for three-year-olds and upward. No purse of less than ,000 will be offered for any race at the forthcoming meeting, and many of them will be worth ,500, ,000 and ,500. such as the W. M. German Handicap, to be run on the fourth day. Other features to be run include the Mclnerney Handicap, to be decided the second day of the meeting, this being an event at one mile, ffor three-year-olds and upward, for horses foaled in Canada.
