LATONIA TURF NOTES t k I s ■ ■ LATONIA, Ky., June 13. The stewards today favorably passed upon the license applications of apprentices John Hik?s and Joe Celeda. Having served a suspension of ten days, incurred for rough riding, jockey Willie Ca.-ner resumed riding this afternoon. Jockey W. Crump, who was forced out of the saddle due to illn?ss late yesterday afternoon, was back in colors today. Danny Connolly also was back in action after a days illness. Kay Spence was at Churchill Downs today for the purpose of supervising the training of the three horses he sent to that track. The trio include Easter Stockings, the Audley Farms Kentucky Oaks winner and Latonia Oaks candidate. The Coldstream Stud horses that were returned to C. B. Schaffers Coldstream Farm for the purpose of training over the private track there are in charge of Frank Taylor. Jockey T. Luther, who has been in ailing health for a time, is now fully recovered and expects to resume riding without further delay. Jockey J. Heupel was out of the saddle nursing a badly bruised left eye, an injury which he received while astride Agitation yesterday. W. H. Trevy shipped Willies Maid and B. McSherry consigned Snappy Pal in the same car to Windsor this afternoon. Dr. J. E. Thomas has unsexed the two-year-old Main Sail, owned by the Forest Rose Stable. Helens Babe, H. P. Headleys Enquirer Handicap candidate, this morning worked a mile in 1 :44% in preparation for that stake, to be run here Saturday. Her trial was the best of the morning at that distance over a slow course. Pink Lily, the Foxcatcher Farm Stables good filly, which gave Easter Stockings such a strong argument in the Kentucky Oaks, galloped a mile in 1 :49 breezing this morning. She is eligible for the Latonia Oaks. Although Roguish Eye. the Bashford Manor Stakes winner, is not among the eligibles for the Harold Stakes, to be run here Saturday, the J. J. Coughlin stable expects Eminence to race in good style in that important fixture.
