FAMOUS AUSTRALIAN STUD One of the leading stud farms of Australia is the Kia-Ora Stud of P. Miller. Mr. Miller has had much success breeding race horses, as the recent yearling sales will show, the two top priced yearlings being bred at Kia-Ora. There are four high class English stallions standing at Kia-Ora, namely, Magpie, by Dark Ronald — Popinjay, at ,000 ; Saltash, by Sunstar — Hamoaze, at 50 ; Legionnaire, by Phalaris — Spean Bridge, at 50, and Slepthorne, by Spearmint — Dutch Mary, at 00. Mr. Miller is continually increasing his stock of prospective brood mares and while in Melbourne recently he bought the bay mare Valwyne, by Valais — Beanbri ; the four-year-old mare Radiant Dawn, by All Black — Golden Dawn, and a two-year-old filly, by All Black, from Janet Foster, which is a sister to The Fortune Hunter, by Flavus — Boiling. Valwyne is to go to Magpie and the other two to Spelthorne. In England Spearmints best horses have been out of Gallinules mares. All Black is a Galli-nule horse and, consequenty, his daughters may suit Spelthorne, which is a son of Spearmint. « .
