NEW WHITTIER PARK OPENS WINNIPEG. Man., June 27.— With the mutuel speculation soaring to 50,000 ami about 10.000 fans attending, the new Whittier Park track of five-eighths of a mile was opened Tuesday afternoon. Fine weather and a fast track prevailed. The meeting is for seven days. Rochester II., with top weight of 129 pounds and jockey McClair up, was a nose winner of the Speers Handicap, at one and a sixteenth miles, ten startins:.
