FAIR OWNERS REPRESENTED Prominent Eastern and Western Women Name Their Horses for Arlington Park Stakes. Judging by the widespread interest eastern horsemen are evincing in the July race meeting at Arlington Park, under the auspices of the American National Jockey Club, owners whose activities are ordinarily confined to the Metropolitan and Saratoga tracks are going to invade the middle west territory this summer in que:-t of the rich prizes that are being offered at Arlington Park. They have awakened to the realization that Chicagos newest race track is a fertile field in which to garner some of the countrys most valuable stakes, and a place admirably adapted in every respect for competition between the very best horses in the land. This is one of the reasons that is prompting an increasing number of eastern stables of prominence to arrange their plans for the summer campaign at Arlington. They have given concrete evidence of their intentions by making liberal nominations to all of the eleven stakes to be decided during the course of the meeting, and have also attended to the important matter of making stable reservations. Entries to the stakes closed last Saturday, and when they are made public, it will be found that the easterners will be extensively represented in the lists, notably the 0,000 added money American Classic, and the various races for juveniles. The active part that sportswomen are taking in turf affairs is evidenced by the large number of stake entries that have been made by the fair sex in all sections of the country. The nominators from the Atlantic seaboard include such prominent owners as Mrs. F. A. Clark, Mrs. G. L. Kaufman, who races in the name of the Loma Stable ; Mrs. Herbert Pulitzer ; Mrs. Graham Fair Vanderbilt, owner of the Fair Stable ; Mrs. W. M. Jeffords ; Mrs. Katherine Elkins Hitt, and Mrs. Payne Whitney. All but one of this number have an entry in the American Classic. Mrs. Clark has named Aquastella ; Mrs. Kaufman, Twink ; Mrs. Pulitzer, Tipperary II. ; Mrs. Vanderbilt, Chicatie; Mrs. Jeffords, Constitution, and Mrs. Hitt. Sunvir. Mrs. Henry C. Phipps, owner of the Wheat-ley Stable, has named Distraction, Diavolo and Nixie, in stakes for three-year-olds and over. The stakes for juveniles have also received liberal entries from these sportswomen. Western sportswomen are also ably represented in the list of nominators. Mrs. J. D. Hertz has named Nettie Stone for the Classic, while Mrs. E. L. Swikard has entered Chip in the same event. Among the other nominators are Mrs. Leigh Taliaferro ; Mrs. E. Denemark ; Mrs. Roy Carruthers and Mrs. P. P. Flaherty, owner of the Rainbow Stable. All of these ladies have representatives in the stakes for two-year-olds. I
