Thomas Bone of Washington was a visitor of the day. He was making his first visit to Belmont Park in seventeen years and was attracted by the lure of the National Stallion and the Belmont Stakes. When regret was expressed that there was not a better brand of weather for his return, he said that Belmont Park was a good place to be in any weather. Arthur Brisbane not only graced the ocas-sion with his presence, but took his place in the press stand among the other turf writers to do his bit for racing. John McEntee Bowman. Bernard ML Gim-ble, Arthur Brisbane and H. Bayard Swope were enthusiastic spectators. Frank Shannon returned to activity following a fortnights illness. N. 1. Evans made one of his infrequent appearances this season. Following the running of the Belmont Stakes owner E. R. Bradley was too excited to talk. He said that he had a great horse and that he ran a great race. Sun Eclipse, which was presented to Mis. R. Penn Smith by her brother, W. Avenll Harrimann, will be unsexed and turned out. He will be schooled for the steeplechase field and pointed for the Harbor Hill. Jockey Chick Lang, who sailed from England yesterday, will report here to trail, r Baird and ride for the division of the Hertz Btable here. John J. Williams was claimed out of the seventh race Friday by R. Harbolde for ,500. W. F. Benton claimed Golden Canopy for $.1,000. John Hyner arrived from Detroit and will remain for the season. John Turner arrived today to interest horsemen in the Blue Bonnets meeting. Roy Ciirruthers of the Arlington 1ark Jockey Club came on to witness the Belmont Staket*.
