LONG BRANCH NOTES • TORONTO. Ont. June 10. Starter George Palmer fined jockeys M. Mitchell and F. Slate 0 and 5, respectively, for disobedience at the post in the fourth race Saturday. Single File. Wrack Maid and Tillie were placed on starter George Palmers schooling list Thursday, while Margaret Helen, Dushka and Ebuford will start from the outside in any race in which they start. The most recent addition to the riders ranks is jockey J. Josiah, who arrived from Montreal, where he had been riding at the recent Kings Park meeting. He can ride at 112 pounds. Jockey Frank Mann and his agent, W. D. Reddy, will depart for Blue Bonnets at the conclusion of the present meeting at Long Branch. Frankie Riley is in receipt of a letter from Willie Hinphy, who is in a sanitarium in Missouri. He mentioned in the letter that h is progressng favorably. W. Irvine will ship the siring he is training here to Kenihvoith at the conclusion of the present meeting. He is sending the good sprinter The Heathen to Arlington Park to run in a stake that is to be run there on July 4. Starter Palmers assistants spent more than a half hour Friday morning trying to get Willingdon to begin from the stall gate. The horse refused to enter the stalls and as a result was scratched from the second race in the afternoon. Prancing, Sidney W., Granite Rock and Josephine P. have been added to the schooling list. This brings the total to eleven that have been placed on the list he first three days of racing. P. J. Mascia. the Hamilton, Ont., sportsman, reports the sale ot Jack Biener and Irish Marine to the B. B. Stable and that H. Jacobs is no longer connected with his stable. The division of the stable that T. Moran is campaigning at the Wheeling, W. Va., meeting will be shipped to Hamilton it the conclusion of that meeting. Two extra trains were required to take care of the fans that journeyed out to Long Branch Saturday, while the boxes were at a premium, George Hay stating that twice as many could have been disposed of had they been available. Jockey George Seabo has attached himself to the Ascot stable. Jimmie Griffin will still look after the boys engagements.
