« . ! FAIRMOUNT PARK NOTES f COLLINSVILLE, 111., June 10. G. F. Jenkins purchased Thistle Princess from G. Collins at private sale. It developed that the racer Caroler, which was left at the post in the fourth race Friday, showed a fit of sulking and, acting stubbornly at the gate, refused to leave with his field at the start of that race. Starter William Snyder placed Caroler on the schooling list and in the racers trials this morning he broke favorably from the barrier and with his customary speed. M. J. Whalen, represented in the first race Friday by Tom Ormont, secured the two-year-old from R. L. Stivers via the claiming route at a cost of ,100. W. S. Rust is expecting the arrival Tuesday of a small band of racers belonging to Keeneland Stud which will join the big division of the J. O. Keene stable now at Fair-mount. The new arrivals will come here from Belmont Park. A. J. rershall shipped a division of his stable, numbering twelve racers, to Bain-bridge Park on Sunday. Pershall took along to Cleveland the cheaper grade of horses and left at Fairmount Park his best ones. Harass, Sterling Silver and other good ones, in charge of E. M. McCuan. W. C. and E. W. Reichert, represented by Harpoon in second race, claimed from J. W. Marchbank the three-year-old Will Bank at a cost of ,600. Jockey J. Parmelee is taking a few days rest account of illness due to rigorous weigM reducing methods he had recently been forced to employ in keeping down good riding weight and condition.
