=6 ANNOUNCE 00,000 RACE • American National Jockey Club to Offer Rich Prize in 1930. • Stake to Be Known as International Gold Cop and Reigh fount May Start In It. 1 Confirmation of the press dispatch cabled from London Thursday that the American National Jockey Club, operators of Arlington Park, would add a new stake of 00,000 to its program for 1930 was made at the clubs offices yesterday. The race will be known as the International Gold Cup, due to the fact that it is designed to bring into competition all the best of the American, English and French horses and will be a counterpart of the Ascot Gold Cup regarding conditions. The distance will be two and a half miles and the award will be a gold cup, in addition to the 00,000 endowment. The idea of instituting such a race was conceived by John D. Hertz, chairman of the executive committee of the American National Jockey Club, and was suggested by him after Reigh Count, running in the colors of Mrs. Hertz, ran such a creditable race to finish second to Invershin in the Ascot Gold Cup race Thursday. Mr. Hertz action was prompted by a desire to knit more closely together the ties that bind sportsmen of the three great countries and create a better spirit of co-operation among them. He was impelled to make the offer, also, out of gratitude for the sportsmanlike reception he and his wife received in England. Mr. Hertz, in cable messages to friends in Chicago, expressed himself as being well satisfied with the really creditable race run by Heigh Count in the Ascot Cup. Regarding the future of Reigh Count. It was announced that the colt would arrive in New York July 16 and be shipped direct to Arlington Park. Shortly after his arrival at that track an afternoon will be set aside to be known as Reigh Count Day, for the purpose of paying homage to the great colt. The public will be able to view him under eofara when he is paraded or galloped around the track. After that Reigh Count will be Mat to his owners Leona Farm for stiH duty. Should the contemplated international stake of next year attract starters from abroad Reigh Count will be placed back in training and prepared for the race*
