NETTIE BELLE, showing high speed, moved into a long lead in the first quarter and was under restraint during the last eighth to win well in hand. FROCK showed a good effort and continued gamely during the stretch run. BELLE RIVE secured a good position in the first eighth and raced in third place thereafter. MARY ELOISE raced fairly well. SUN COAT was taken out of it sharply at the first turn and raced wide during the last quarter. ANGELA LAV IN and BETTY BARRETT were always far out of it. Scratched— Billie Birck, 114. OSSIE 11. , racing in her best form nnder energetic riding, moved into the lead in the first eighth and. holding on gamely, disposed of SPECTRE and held CEO. CROOM safe when the latter came with a strong rush. CEO. CROOM was allowed to drop out of it and. ridden wide at the stretch turn, came with a rush in the last eighth. ANITA M. saved much ground in the stretch and finished gamely. SPECTER was ridden wide and raced prominently until the final seventy yards, where she suddenly tired. BOGAN began fast, but suffered when POLITA came across, then followed the latter closest and, gaining steadily in the stretch, held on gamely under hard riding and got up in the final atrides. POLITA raced into a long lead in the first quarter and, under a more alert ride, would have won. SALONA raced improved under good riding and was well up most of the way after being taken back soon after the start. HAM was going fast at the end. ST. MATTHEWS tired after the first half mile.
