$ $ Queen of Turf Is Title Sought by Rose of Sharon g » HOMEWOOD, 111.. June 21.— J. N. Camden, owner of Rose of Sharon, was a visitor at Washington Park today. In referring to the effort of Rose of Sharon to win the Illinois Oaks, which would make it three victories in Oaks events, he said : "If Rose of Sharon wins the Illinois Oaks, then she may rightfully be styled as queen of the western turf. One never can tell what may occur. I know that up to the present she is great. Naturally I expect her to win. "Rose of Sharons failure to race in her two-year-old form was due to two things. She did not seem to be in racing condition and was growing fast. She was turned out and came back fine. "This filly, bred on my farm, promises well. I repeat it is impossible to predict the future of any racer. Rose of Sharon is not a picture, but mechanically I regard her as close to perfection. I have always known about her ability to run fast. She also knows how to take care of herself in a race."
