DIXIH DREAMER raced as if much the best, was away poorly and in a tangle to be far out of it for the first three-eighths, moved up fast when hard urged and, gaining steadily, drew into the lead a sixteenth out and won thereafter. MARY BI.01SE began fast and raced prominently to take the lead when reaching the stretch, but was not good enough for the winner. PHOTOS STAR began slowly, raced wide all the way, but gained steadily in the stretch. COAL BLACK ROSE, well up most of the way but tired near the end. SALUTA began fast, but tired in the first quarter. PRECAUTION quit. SUN COAT was outrun. Scratched — My Premier, 112. Overweight — Precaution, 1J pounds. QQ* /£ O SECOND RACE— 3-4 Mile. Black Beetle. SHIFT, favored by the heavy going and, racing in his best form under a hustling ride, came away in the last eighth to win with much in reserve. ANITA M. broke slowly and had to work her way up steadily, came fast in the stretch and finished gamely. BLACK FLYER raced well up most of the way. BOGAN began well, but suffered interference around the turns. EXQUISITE acted badly at the post and raced fairly well. GOTHAM, under restraint in the early stages and kept in the best part of the track in the early stages, rushed into the lead when called on and held the rcce safe in the last sixteenth. HOMEWOOD, showing good speed, was taken into the lead in the first quarter, but tired after reaching the stretch. BILL SETH was kept in the deepest going and, taken back repeatedly, suffered interference. TUUU BOY ran a good race. PAUL HHITENSTE1X had no mishaps.
