t BOWIE TURF NOTES $ P BOWIE, Md., April 1. II. G. Bedwell has twenty-two horses in training here this spring. Harry Bites has three of the Bedwell tAvo-year-olds at Pimlico and one of them, a colt, is said to be a youngster far aboe the ordinary. Frank Baker, Avho rode for Gwynn Tom-kins last season, is here with the Eastland Farms Stable. P. E. Fitzgerald has taken up Rockslide and Rock dOr, Avhich Avintered at the Griff-wood Farm, back of Pimlico. John S. Whatley, former jockey and trainer, Avho rode on the Canadian and Maryland tracks, died March 25 at Portland, Ore. Matt Cremens reports the arrival at the De Moss Farm of a filly foal by Sandy Beal, from Miss Fayette. Tush Tush, another mare at the De Moss Farm, foaled a filly by Sandy Beal a few days back. Harry Rites reports tAvo foals at Griffwood Farm, both of Avhich Avere sired by Sedgefield. One is a filly from Cloudburst and another a colt from Tidings. Memoria, the property of Frank Hayes, mayor of Waterbury, Conn, has foaled a J fine looking filly by Canter at Griffwood ; Farm.
