WENT TO POST 2:32. AT POST 5 minutes. Start good out of machine. Won driving; second and third the same. SWEEP ALL, quick to find his stride and displaying excellent speed, raced FOOLHARDY into defeat rounding the turn and, responding courageously under punishment, outlasted GIGANTIC in the final drive. The latter moved up fast after going an eighth between the leaders and made a game effort, but could not overhaul the winner. UP was raced forwardly and, saving ground throughout, continued gamely in the last eighth. HUNTINGDON began quickly, but bore in throughout and,, moving up steadily when straightened out, closed a big gap. JOLLY KING raced evenly and the race should improve him. SONNY FRONK had no excuses. FOOLHARDY quit badly in the final three-sixteenths. AIRLINER dwelt and stumbled at the start and was not persevered with thereafter. Won easily; second and third driving. COG-AIR followed the pace closely under restraint until the final eighth, then opened up a winning lead with little effort to win with much in reserve. CRYSTAL DOMINO, outrun in the early stages, finished gamely under punishment in the stretch and disposed of the tiring ALGOL in the final forty yards. ALGOL displayed excellent speed for a half mile, but tired rapidly in the stretch and was bearing out badly in the final strides. HYPNOTISM suffered no mishaps and raced evenly. BLACK PATRICIA, in close quarters leaving the back stretch, tired after going half a mile. AVATER LAD saved ground, but was unable to Improve his position. AVon. driving; second and third the same. COLOSSAL, away well but pinched back leaving the back stretch, gained steadily on the inside and wore the leaders down in the final drive. CHLO BOY rushed into the lead in the first eighth, set a fast early pace and raced PARNELL BOUND into defeat, drew clear in the stretch, but tired in the last fifty yards and was unable to withstand the winners challenge. MR. DESMOND, a contender all the way, finished gamely in the stretch and disposed of PA KNELL BOUND in the final drive. The latter crossed over after the start came, rushed into contention, followed the pace closely to the eighth post and then tired. XEAVSENELDA had no mishaps. PROMETHEUS, in close quarters in the first sixteenth and pulled up sharply, was never a factor thereafter. JUDGE DIXON could never get up. A A K K FOURTH RACE 7-8 Mile. BOCARATONE, under light restraint for the first five-eighths, gained steadily on the extreme outside when called upon and, wearing down PENNANT LASS iu the final sixteenth, won going away. PENNANT LASS, quickest to begin, was rated in front and withstood repeated challenges, drew clear in the stretch, but tired suddenly in the final strides. STAR O MORN, saving ground throughout, held on gamely in the final drive to outlast GUN ROYAL. The latter, on the inside for the first three-eighths, was repeatedly shuffled back, came to the outside entering the stretch and made a game effort, but tired under his impost right at the end. PAUL ISUNYAN suffered interference on the turn, but finished gamely when clear. RAPID TRANSIT reared at the start, gained fast on the back stretch, but tired after going five-eighths. ANNAPOLIS, racing kindly, followed the leaders closely under restraint in the first three-quarters and, going to the outside entering the stretch, closed with courage to dispose of ORMONBIRD and won going away. FAIRY MAIDEN, outrun in the early stages, closed steadily in the final three-eighths and outlasted ORMONBIRD in the final drive. The latter, used up forcing the pace, took the lead with a rush after straightening out in the stretch, but tired in the final drive. .SANDY FORD displayed good speed, but legan to tire after going three-quarters and was probably short. SEARINGTON, in close attendance of the pace throughout, saved ground entering the stretch and responded gamely under punishment and wore LAURIE down in the last stride. The latter, under restraint until midway around the lower turn, moved forward with a rush when called on and, assuming command in the stretch, weakened in the closing strides. THYMON, rated off the early pace, finished stoutly the final eighth and was going strongest of all at the end. DANGER SIGNAL, well up in the early running, faltered when the final issue came. VILLAGER, taken back after the start, trailed his opposition until well around the far turn and, moving up fast on the outside, was carried wide entering the stretch, lost considerable ground, but continued gamely and outstayed BLAZING CINCH in the final drive. The latter, slightly restrained in the first half mile, moved forward with a rush on the inside and assumed a short lead in the stretch, but could not withstand the winners challenge. ERA, shuffled back when entering the back stretch, gradually worked his way through on the inside and disposed of FENLlGHT in the final sixteenth. The latter made a game challenge entering the stretch but tired as if short. JUDGE CAAERLY had no mishaps. KEYDET and BOND SLAAE quit badly in the last quarter mile.
