LACK OF CARS CAUSES DELAY Departures From New Orleans Steady, However FairmounS Park Attracts Many Owners. NEW ORLEANS, La., April 1. Shipment of thoroughbreds from Jefferson Park and the Fair Grounds continued Avith considerable rapidity Tuesday. The bulk of horses that campaigned here, however, will hardly bo transferred to various northern racing points before the close of the week. This is a result of a sudden shortage of express cars. It develops that the demand exceeded the supply and hopes are held by horsemen still in New Orleans that early next week will find them elsewhere. A number of minor transfers were recorded yesterday. J. B. Theall transferred My Angel and Rose McGinty to Schulenberg, Texas. It is Thealls intentions to use My Angel for breeding purposes. The remainder of tftis string is scheduled to go to Aurora. Fairmount Park will draw its share of horses from this point. The Demarest stable, comprising ten head, is to be sent to the Col-linsville. 111., course. Another stable that is headed for Fairmount Park is that of Mrs. L. M. Holmes. This shipment, however, according to present plans, will not leave here until April 25. The C. A. Coyle string is also slated to campaign at Fairmount Park and, headed by Sea Rocket, is to leave Jefferson Park April 15. Another stable bound for Fairmount is that of M. Deatherage, the string being scheduled to depart Thursday. Beulah Park attracted the stables of V. Swanson, T. Scott and Bourdeaux. They depart Thursday. The Wild Rose Farm horses, which have been quartered at the Fair Grounds, will go direct to Pimlico, according to acting trainer P. Carrcn. The string comprises fourteen head. Thursday and Friday is to witness the transfer of various stables. J. Stubbs is headed for Aurora, and upon his arrival at Exposition Park will take up Blushing Maiden and Laetare. The J. Ownbey and K. Limbird stables go along with that of Stubbs. The Jack Howard stable of eleven head is booked to depart for Lexington Friday. E. E. Mooars two horses will accompany the shipment. J. McKeon, with eleAen head, is shipping direct to Latonia, Irom which point the horses are later to be transferred to Churchill Downs. R. H. Wesselman, D. Vititoe and F. J. Uhlein are to ship to Aurora. The stables of J. J. Keith, AY. Metzger and A. Cragin pulled out today for Wheeling. L. Campion, who has been in charge of the four horses owned by Mrs. C. Phillips, are scheduled for shipment to Jamaica today. Mose Cossman, agent for the E. R. Bradley stable, departed today for Chicago for a visit and later will proceed to Lexington, where it is probable that some of the Bradley horse3 will be campaigned. 1
