Sawdust won the race, with San Carlos second and Smoldering , third. The attendance was little affected by the weather, however, it being of usual midweek day proportions. Dry Nation suddenly came to light in the , fifth race. At home in the going, he sprinted ; into the lead at once and was never in trouble at any stage. Last Charge worked his way up from the rear after going the first half and outlasted Mary McClain for second . during the stretch test- The others finished well beaten off, Buchon and Ella Bank stopping badly. Taking command after going the first eighth of the opening dash, Theo. Fay drew away into a long lead thereafter and never ! left the issue in doubt. J. J. Bambrick proved to be as easily best of the others. Lennie outstayed Royal Bells for third after the latter was seriously interfered with at the first turn. Thelnia L. overhauled Vinlin entering the stretch in the second event and drew away into a handy lead during the run home. Vinlin, the pacemaker, retained second handily. Clay Pigeon, favorite, took command early in the fourth dash and was never really threatened. Suno-ln disposed of Milano, after going half the trip, for second. After acting badly at the post and making a slow beginning, Flaherty raced up info third position in the last quarter. Displaying the most speed throughout, Swift Current was never in serious trouble during the running of the third event. The real thrill of the race came when the next four horses raced through the stretch heads apart. Phi Delta held on best, with Jibe thiid.
