H. D. BROWNS FARM AND HORSES TO BE SOLD SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., April 19. Brown Shasta Farm, the great thoroughbred stud in the shadow of Mt. Shasta, imposing landmark in Northern California is for sale, together with all the stock horses, brood mares, yearlings and foals on the place. The Brown Shasta racing stable also will be disposed of. H. D. "Curly" Brown, founder of the pretentious nursery, has been ordered by his physicians to retire from racing in all its phases, it was learned here today. Browns health failed more than two years ago, shortly after he retired from the management of Arlington Park, the great Chicago racing course and last of the several tracks which he promoted. Last winter he suffered a collapse while on a visit to Agua Cajiente and was confined to a sanitarium at Lajolla for several weeks. The Brown Shasta Farm is a show place of its kind and scores of winners have been sent to the races from its paddocks. Details of the sales plan were not obtainable.
