PEXXATE, away poorly, was straightened out promptly and, perfectly ridden, reached contention with " rare speed, was forced to race on the outside to gain command in the last eighth and in a furious i drive, just managed to outstay GLIDELIA. The latter moved up fast when leaving the back stretch, came through on the inside and fought It out gamely. HIEAWA Y raced forwardly and continued with 4 igood energy in the closing drive. SYDKA showed good speed in the going and held on well when challenged. EXALT showed a good performance. KALEIDOSCOPE, fractious nt the barrier, raced well placed in the early racing and was eased up in the final eighth. FARR could not improve his position. 4 MISS DINWIDDIE was in close quarters directly after the start and suffered from interference. Scratched Totem, 110. Won driving; second and third the same. 1 MlI, favored by the going and hard ridden while inside the leaders, managed to reach the front under urging, was given a mild breathing Fpell when entering the stretch and, vigorously ridden there- -after, just managed to outlast YOUNG KITTY. The latter, away promptly and showing good speed in the going, was hard urged to stall off SHIPMASTER AND JACK BIENER in the early stages, lost -. some ground when making the stretch turn, but continued with rare energy. SHIPMASTER showed a , good race under strong urging. WAR INSTIGATOR, a slow beginner, tired after making a challenge entering the stretch, where he saved a lot of ground. JACK BIENER quit. RUBAN ROUGE, a slow beginner, finished gamely to outstay FASCISTS. The latter was held safe all the u way. REFORM was never dangerous. TEMPTER, sent into a slight early lead,- was restrained until reaching the stretch, was shaken up and held on well. MULATTO, kept far back in the early racing, closed fast under weak riding. PRAIRIE GIRL was made too much use of early and, kept in the worst going, tired in the, final drive. AlI.LAGER made a determined challenge to gain a slight lead, but tired badly In the last sixteenth when kept next to the inner rail. Overweight Mulatto, 3 pounds.
