INDIAN RUNNER began fast, saved ground and, racing into the lead with a rush, drew away fast and had speed to spare. DELVEN, close up throughout, went wide and tired after half a mile, but outstayed SAZERAC. The latter began slowly, lost much ground and closed ground entering the stretch, but tired. PRINCESS CAMELIA had no mishaps. K. RUSSELL began well, saved ground and went evenly after dropping back on the stretch turn. SHAKER LADY was outrun. GREEN LEAF had keen early speed. REVERBERATE, always close up, saved much ground while working his way into the lead in the last quarter and just lasted. THISTLE BILLIE, much the best, but poorly ridden, began fast and, taken back ■when in close quarters on the stretch turn, swerved while closing fast. BELL OF BOURBON was sharply impeded by ALL GIRLS in the stretch and closed fast when clear. LAILA WILD raced wide, dropped back on the stretch turn, but came again. ALL GIRLS showed speed to the stretch, where she swerved when tirinsr. REGAL LADY was done after hall a mile. DARK SEA, going in his best form, wore down PORT HARLEM and, continuing gamely, drew away in the last seventy yards. PORT HARLEM, poorly riden and rushed into the early pacemaking, held on fairly well after being headed. DARK ENTRY raced evenly and, shaking off BLOT, wore down SUITOR. The latter had no mishaps and tired. BLOT, fractious at the post, tired after entering the stretch. TYPHOON began slowly, was alwavs far back and showed a dull performance. PROTEUS outbroke his field, quickly drew clear and, withstanding TELLICOS bid, weakened, but outstayed LIBERTY LIMITED for a lucky win. The latter, probably much the best and away slowly, gradually worked his way up through the field, was blocked in the stretch and, closing with fine speed when clear, was rapidly wearing the winner down. TELLICO had speed, offered a mild bid entering the stretch and came aeain eamely in the closing stagos. HEAVY SUGAR raced well throughout and showed a good effort. BARASHKOVA had no mishaps. PRINCE HOTSPUR beean slowly. ADOBE POST could not get up. PRINCE FOX was outrun. GRAND CHAMPION dropped out of it in the first eighth and was far back thereafter. ALLENFERN lost much ground and appeared to stumble at the turn. DELIVERED galloped off in four runawavs from a quarter to a half mile each time before the start. ELYSIUM lost much ground, worked his way into the lead under pressure and tired in the final eighth. EMPIRE ran out badly while showing early speed. THISTLE LAD met interference. SOUTHLAND PAL began fast, bore out and caused a bad jam on the first turn.
