VIRADO, close up from the start, responded willingly on the stretch turn and wore down CRYOUT in the last eighth. The latter, also close up. took the lead at the final eighth post, but was unable to withstand the rush of the winner. BEDFORD BOY improved his position on the inside. BALAI DOR showed early speed, but tired fast after five-eighths. LEADGOLD raced well. COLLARVICTORIA closed fast ETHEL KENYON quit. NAUGHTY NAUGHTY tired in the stretch. CARILINA, away slowly, closed a big gap. GILDED CASINO showed an even performance. The others were alwavs outrun. CIRCULET was rated along until challenged and held on well. PAT GAIETY finished fast. AYMOND was goine strongly at the end. MR. GAIETY dropped far out of it after the start. MERIDIAN QUEEN forced a fast pace while following BLIMP, responded gamely to urging, took command in the last sixteenth and had enough left to withstand BAD NEWS BOB. The latter, restrained for the first three quarters while saving ground, was taken to the outside when placed under punishment and was going courageously at the finish. BERBER entered contention with a rush at the final elbow, continued gamely and outstayed BLIMP. The latter had keen early speed while seting a fast pace, but tired during the closing eighth. SOLACE, well placed early, could not keep up when the real issue came. SHASTA PEBBLE met with no mishaps. DYNAMITE was never a factor. TRICKY COLONEL moved up gamely and wore down CRIMSAL entering the stretch and had enough left to stall off ELIZABETH. The latter, outrun for three-quarters, improved her position and was going fast at the end. FLORIDA GOLD held on well jn the stretch. ROCKSLIDE made up a lot of ground in the last half mile. CRIMSAL opened up a good early lead, then quit badly. FAIR VAGARY showed speed at times. MANNANA also quit.
