BRIGHT FLASH showed the most speed throughout, but had to be hustled along in the closing stages to retain her slight advantage. SADDLE SKIRTS moved up fast after rounding the far turn, easily disposed of the others and was wearing down the winner. DOUBLE CHIN improved her position in the last half and held the others safe. CLEMMIE dropped out of it on the far turn, but closed ground in the last quarter. WILD PARTY and BETSY JAYNE tired after showing earlv speed. LAGRANGE moved up on the outside of the opposition after rounding the far turn, wore down OLD BILL in the stretch and outgamed the latter in the final drive. OLD BILL took command after eomg the first half, displayed good speed and held on with rare courage during the final test. MADDER 1 ed up fast on the outside while rounding the far turn and finished resolutely through the stretch. ROMAN BLAZE ran an even race. UNION W. could never get up. The others tired badly.
