ALLENFERN, much the best and away fast, was in close quarters on the turn, then moved up rapidly when clear in the stretch and, racing into the lead, won with speed to spare. FOX CHASE showed good speed from the start, raced into the lead with a rush, but could not hold the winner. SUNS SON raced gameh in the stretch. INDIAN DANCE began slowly and closed fast. MENDELL began fast and, dropping back on the stretch turn, never recovered. SIBERIA began fast and ran out badlv when in the lead. WILLA forced the early pace restrained and. taking the lead, continued in hand until the final three-sixteenths, where she drew clear under vigorous hand riding and had little left. KINCSEN, close up while racing wide, improved her position entering the stretch and wore down SUITOR, but could not overtake the winner. SUITOR had speed from the start, lost ground and tired. JEAN LAFITTE began slowly, was far back to the stretch, where he closed gamely on the inside. GALAHAD began slowly, went wide on the Stretch turn and could not get up. The latter raced up fast after three eighths and held on stubbornly, but was not good enough. GIVANNA showed speed, lost ground on the turn and tired. SANS COIN lost much ground. CHU CHU "was outrun. BURNING UP, taken into the lead and rated along under restraint for the first five-eighths, drew away slightly entering the stretch and, holding on well under strong riding, withstood PITTSBlRGHER in an extended drive. The latter, close up under reserve for the first half mile, tired momentarily on the stretch turn, but moved up gamely near the final eighth, then held on couraeeously. but could not get up. SUNNY LASSIE raced evenly. CHIEF JOHN saved ground and closed gamely. SCOTLANDS GLORY began tast, but was taken back under unnecessarily slow restraint, lost ground on the stretch turn and failed to get up. Scratched— 59277 The Mongol. 110. Overweight — Sunny Lassie. The latter, taken across sharply on the first turn, showed speed, saved ground and, holding on well, only gave way in the final strides. THE SOUTHERNER, close up from the start, tired. TANIST saved ground, but tired after challenging BRIGHT DAY began slowly. DICK PORTER quit. SCARLET BRIGADE tired after seven eighths. KITTY WILKINS showed early speed. DODGSON met interference. SANTA SOPHIA was always far back, her rider having one foot out of the stirrup from the start. THE DUKE, close up after the first half mile, improved his position gradually while racing wide and, closing gamely, outfinished ATLIL. The latter, improved, kept well up and, responding gamely when called upon, held the lead briefly, but could not withstand the winner. TORCHFIRE, close up under restraint in the early stages, took the lead under brisk urging and tired after a mile. TACK began slowly, was taken back on the first turn, then rushed up fast on the outside and held on fairly well. LADY MESSENGER closed gamely. RAMUS began fast, but dropped out of it nearing the stretch. SAN PRESTO, away slowlv, was taken back repeatedly under a poor ride and was never a factor. OUR BILLY quit. EVERGREEN QUEEN, probably best and close up, followed the pacemaker closely, suffered interference from WOODLOT in the stretch, but held on gamely. WOODLOT, taken into the lead, showed good speed. BROOKSIE met early interference. GRIFF W., fractious at the post, closed much ground in the last quarter. HARPOON was outrun. TOMMY TICKLE and GRAYDALE showed early speed.
