Ohio. June 1.— There was no special feature down for decision at Bainbridge Park this afternoon. Interest cent-tered in the running of the fifth race, which attracted an apparently evenly matched field. Contrary to expectation. Mrs. W. R. Hoffman s Super Toy was an easy winner. The Supercargo filly had better racing luck today, found an opening next to thji inner rail in the stretch, and drew away into a commanding lead in the late stages. Paddy Fiaherty led until well into the stretch, with Amsterdam in close pursuit. When the final drive came Amsterdam had the most in reserve and outlasted the tiring pacemaker for second place. Erin Go Eragh and Fair Glow were prominent to the stretch, then tired badly. The sport was conducted under ideal conditions and the attendance was good. It was Ladies Day and the fair sex was present in large numbers. Shasta Sun and Sweet Evelyn contested the leadership closely lapped all during the last half mile of the initial dash, with Sweet Evelyn showing slightly in front to the last seventy yards. Shasta Sun proved the gamer in the final drive, scoring by a head, which marked his maiden victory. Sweet Evelyn retained second by a narrow margin from Jeanne Seremba, which closed up much ground after going half the distance and probably was best. Princess Black went well to the final turn, then tired. After following the pace of Cleoia closely until midway of the stretch, in the second race, Miss Peggy took command and retained a length advantage over her opponents all during the closing stages. Eloise came fast thiough the stretch to eventually secure the second award, and Purlie closed much ground during the last quarter to beat the others home. Cleora tired rapidly at the end. Pretty Patsy, from which much was expected, began slowly and was never prominent. Somewhat of a surprise developed when Parties graduated from the maiden ranks in winning the third race rather handily after never before having finished in the money. Jockey M. Knight sent her up into a contending position after going half the distance, and. disposing of Do Say. held the resolutely closing Hoops safe to the end. Grand Voivode closed an immense gap to beat the others home. Red Vest was most fancied, but he acted badly at the post and quit after showing some early speed.
