ARLINGTON STAKES CLOSED As Monday was the final day for nominations for the ,000 added North Shore Steeplechase and ,000 added Lake Forest Steeplechase and filing of supplementary entries for the ten stakes to be run on the flat during the coming annual summer meeting of the Arlington Park Jockey Club, the Chicago offices of that association presented a busy scene throughout the day. General manager Roy Carruthers expressed himself as highly pleased with the subscriptions, which may widely exceed all estimates, and is certain that the steeplechase features will engage all the leading timber toppers in the country. Without exception the leading runners in all divisions will be listed among the eligibles for the ten stakes, headed by the 0,000 added Classic for three-year-olds. Joseph McLennan, racing secretary, is expected from the East on Wednesday and the first issue of conditions for the overnight events will be distributed about Saturday.
