. , , . ■ JAMES C. ELLIS ATTACKED OWENSBORO, Ky., June 3.— James C. Ellis, president of the Dade Park Jockey Club, and owner of a stable of horses racing at Washington Park, Chicago, escaped today from what was believed to have been an attempt to kidnap him and hold him for ransom. Ellis reported to police he struck one of his assailants and ran. He said they fled.
