BAND TIME raced into the lead with a rush, saved ground after reaching the final three-eighths and, increasing his advantage under hard urging entering the last quarter, won easily thereafter. MASTER McGEE began fast, showed good speed and, while failing to seriously threaten the winner, held on gamely, outstaying BALLYHOO. The latter, close up throughout, bore in repeatedly and closed fast when brought to the outside. DIS DAT could not get to the leaders. CAPTAIN T. saved ground. ESSENTIAL met early interference. FOX CHASE began slowly, was rushed up fast and tired in the stretch. PRINCE TRAFALGAR began rauidlv, but appeared to sulk. Snatched— 59540 K. BROAD MEADOWS, going in his best form and well ridden, kept close up under restraint for the first half niiie and, responding strongly, gradually wore down ELLICE and won drawing out. ELLICE, taken across sharply going to the turn, showed good speed and held on well, but was overmatched. WILLA lost ground, but was a factor from the start and tired in the final drive. GERARD began fast, but dropped far out of it and closed with a rush on the outside. NIFTY, close up early, tired under urging. ZACAWEISTA was forced back when the winner came across, lost ground on the stretch turn, and could not improve his position thereafter. TELLICO began fast, alternated in the early pacemaking under strong restraint and, greatly benefited by Garners tactics while holding on well, lasted in a close finish, but was disqualified. MARCASITE showed speed from the start, suffered repeatedly through Garners frequent fouling of Allen, yet held on stubbornly. PRINCE HOTSPUR, close up and on the outside in the final five-sixteenths, closed gamely and was going fastest of all at the end. DEENIE was outrun. Scratched— 59149 Judge Primrose, 112. RAY BLADES began slowly, but improved his position with a rush on the lower turn, quickly disposed of the leader and, taking command, won well in hand. CHIMNEY SWEEP, a factor from the start, was in close quarters entering the stretch and held on well. BEST MAN, never far back, lost ground and, dropping back entering the stretch, raced evenly thereafter. BUD BROOM began slowly. PRINCE DAMOUR showed early speed. LADY GIBSON had speed, saved ground and tived. but showed a good performance. ROYAL JULIAN failed to respond when urged. SEA ROCKET, never tar back, saved ground -after reaching the last three-eighths and outstayed CHANCELLOR. The latter, much used racing DANDY DAN into submission, tired in the stretch, where he bore out. MISS BESS lost ground and could not get up. DANDY DAN had speed, but tired badly. CHUM, badly outrun, lost ground much of the way and could not get up. PORT O PLAY was outrun. TRENTONIAN tired under hard urging.
