Start good and fast. Won easily; second and third the same. LE BEY raced well, jumped boldly, withstood CAWVOGE when ready and, withstanding determined opposition from SUN ECLIPSE in the last half mile, drew away. The latter, restrained off the early pace, challenged gamely when called upon, but was not good enough. VALOROUS, under restraint early, bobbled at the eleventh jump, recovered and finished well. CAWVOGE showed early speed, but tired after making a bad landing at the eighth jump. Overweight — Grand Vedette, 4 pounds. QfiTT THIRD RACE— 1 Mile. Jack High, May 24, 1930.-1:35—4—110. The latter, a factor from the start, challenged gamely on the stretch turn, but tired. GIGANTIC, outrun early, responded to urging and outlasted MILKMAN. The latter, close up throughout, tired in the final strides. CURATE swerved to the inside at the start and bumped CLOCK TOWER. The latter moved up steadily, but tired in the stretch. Won driving ; second and third the same. IN COMMAND, under hard pressure in the last eighth, wore down CONTRIBUTE and was drawing away. The latter swerved over after the start and impeded SCION, but showed good speed and held on well. SCION recovered quickly, moved up fast, and went to the outside in the final eighth. BURNSIDE was outrun throughout. POPCORN responded when called upon, but swerved in the last eighth. COMMON showed early speed, but tired at the end. Overweight — In Command, 2 pounds ; Full Swing, 1.
