TOP CLOUD, never far from the leaders, took command an eighth out, failed to; withstand the winners rush and was driving hard to save second. LASSA began slowly, but came through on the outside finishing fastest of all. AUTUMN BLOOM ran an even race. GLAD EFFORT, TOLLIE YOUNG and DASHAWAY all displayed early speed, but tired. NUCKOLS BOY improved his position, saved ground next to the rail and finished fast in the stretch and was wearing down the winner. ROCKNEY closed fast on the inside in the stretch. JACK BERRY was carried wide on the first turn and forced to race on the outside all the way, but finished gamelv. THISTLE JEAN, JUNIOR C. and CLEMMIE showed early speed, but tired in the last eighth. PRINCESS ZELDA displayed keen speed until midway of the stretch, then weakened. VERVE was crowded back at the far turn and tired thereafter. The others were outrun.
