JUSTA SHEIK, awav slowly, improved his position and finished with a rush in the center of the track. JUSTA SHADE took the" lead when MAJOR GENERAL tired and held on well, but was unable to stave off the winner. CENTERMARCH loomed up dangerously in the last eighth, but tired slightly right at the end. MAJOR GENERAL opened up a good lead, but tired in the last quarter. CONSTABLE was next to the rail entering the stretch and was unable to obtain clear sailing. TUMBLING GLASS raced close up until reaching the stretch. LADY NORRIS tired. LORD CARDIGAN, under restraint for three-quarters, came fast in the last quarter and fought it out with MILESTONE. The latter held on gamely and just failed to last. SERGEANT MAJOR raced well in the stretch. PAR EXCELLENCE was unable to reach contention. VARSITY, an early factor, tired in the stretch. THE HOVEL made up ground. SUN MAN was never able to get up. MINE SWEEPER, away slowly, began improving his position when straightened out on the back stretch, worked his way up gradually, went to the front in the stretch and drew away to win with speed in reserve. LIVE ONE outbroke his field, was taken back off the pace, came stoutly in the last three eighths, but was unable to reach the leader. BANAL GIRL, away slowly, improved her position gradually and finished gamely. ANCODA dropped back after going the first three-eighths and was unable to reach a prominent place thereafter. SNOOTY showed a nice effort for the first seven-eighths. DANCING MACK drew away into a good lead in the first mile, but tired badly thereafter. JUDGE BARTLETT raced prominently placed throughout, but tired in the last eighth. WELLET made up a lot of ground. VOLTEAR was going fast at the end. JUST BELIEVE showed good speed for five eighths.
