He has accounted for eighteen races, the majority of which have been for his contract employers. Catrone will seek more outside mounts starting next week. Dave Withers has taken over the engage-" ment book of H. Callahan, the apprentice under contract to Max Hirsch. Jimmie Ross, Jr., son of the Havre de Grace superintendent, accompanied by Jack Barshjak, arrived from Baltimore to witness the running of the Belmont Stakes. Dr. Richards examined E. R. Bradleys Baba Kenny after Fator dismounted, and stated that the ligaments were torn loose in the ankle and that there is a possibility of a fracture. He returned to the stable after the last race for a more detailed ex- amination. He hopes to save her for breed- ing purposes. John Hertz returned from Chicago after a brief business trip, and, accompanied by Mrs. Hertz, will leave for Ithaca, N. Y, to attend their sons graduation exercises from Cornell. Joseph McLennan arrived from Chicago to distribute program books for the forthcoming Arlington Park meeting. He is highly gratified by prospects, and will remain unMl after Belmont Stakes day.
