COLLARVICTORIA A BARGAIN TORONTO, Ont., June 10.— Collarvictoria, which raced to the place in the second race Tuesday at Long Branch, was purchased during the winter months for 5. W. J. Skene, after buying the mare, schooled her over a couple of jumps at Woodbine. Next morning the daughter of Quartz Rock had corded up so badly that it was impossible to take her out of the stall. Mr. Skene thought it would be foolish to train her, and had planned to send her to his farm, and was going to have her bred so let up on her. The mare showed such wonderful improvement that she was put back into training. She would likely have been returned winner in Tuesdays race but for suffering such poor racing luck.
