LADY TEDDY, making her first start, raced into the lead with a rush in the first three-sixteenths and, drawing into command on the turn and much the best, held sway thereafter. SABINA H. began fast, raced a trifle wide on the turn and, closing gamely, held the others safe. RARA AVIS, close up throughout, held on well. SALLY IRENE improved her position slightly on the turn and bore in badly in the stretch, preventing vigorous urging. SANS COIN had no mishaps. VIBRANT began fast. FLAG CATCHER began in a tangle and was never a factor. COUSIN JUDY was outrun. PANCHIO, never far back and raced wide in the last half mile, closed gamely under strong hand riding and, wearing down MARDIE, outstayed COPPERFIELD. The latter, closed up throughout, came through on the inside in the closing three-sixteenths and went gamely thereafter. MARDIE, hustled along from the start, drew clear on the stretch turn and tired in the last eighth. BAG SMASHER could not get to the leaders. PERCENTAGE, close up under restraint, failed to respond when hard urged. ALEADER quit. BARON KING was weakly ridden. ONE LONG HOP ran out on the turn. GREY KITTY, a quick beginner, raced into the lead with a rush, maintained good speed under energetic riding, but had little left. THE OKAH improved his position rapidly on the outside in the first quarter, saved ground on the stretch turn and closed gamely. BELEN remained far back for half a mile, then worked her way up fast on the outside and was going well at the end. THE DIPPER, hustled along from the start, had no mishaps. JEANNE WACHS lost ground and was never a factor. GRAND PRINCE, close up from the start, swerved badly in the stretch. CHERRY MAY began in a tangle and, taken back repeatedly in the early stages, did not respond when urged. BETTY ANN showed early speed. The latter moved up with a rush on the far turn and tired. DUNMORE went across sharply shortly after the start and was blocked repeatedly under a poorly judged ride.
