SHIP CHAWK DERBY ELIGIBLE i Birthday Gift Sent to Latonia fof Big Race — Churchill Downs in Good Condition. 1 LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 22.— The Latoni Derby candidate, Birthday Gift, a son o Bracadale or Cherokee — Florence L., owned by Mrs. John T. Chawk. left Louisville Sat* urday morning in the consignment of th« Frank P. Letellier shipment for the Coving* ton track. George V. Barnes, owner o Barnesdale Farms, shared the car with th* Letellier horses. The Barnes thoroughbred numbered six head. The horses of F. Pi Letellier were Mince Pie, a double pursd winner at the Downs, the old campaigner Royal Sport, Bobby Powers and the two* year-olds Spanish Flirt, Newberger and] Polyth. These horses have been undergoing steady training and are ready to race. The Barnes outfit included the good plate Whisk Arrow, the three-year-old maiden El* nora M., and the two-year-olds Gammers; Son and Carrie Etta. Trainer Barnes took Walter I. Kohns two-year-old Prince Megan; and C. L. Grafs juvenile racer, Lady Ver-t sonia, to the Covington track. The Downs has been kept in excellent training condition by assistant track supew intendent Albert Houchin, for the horses; that rested up here after the close of the spring meeting and all the Latonia-bound stock is in good racing condition. The stables of Dan Lehan, Judge Jamea P. Edwards, R. P. Brooks, Joe Umensette* and L. Kort expect to get away from the Downs by Tuesday. *
