DOUBLE FOR THREE DS « Calf Roper and Zacaweista Victorious at Washington Park. — — ♦ pak Park Purse Headliner of Washington Park Program — Audley Farm Wins Juvenile Purse. HOMEWOOD, 111., June 22.— The Three Ds Stock Farm, owned by W. T. Waggoner and Sons of Texas, supplied two of the main winners at Washington Park this afternoon. They scored with Calf Roper in the fourth race, and his victory was followed by that of Zacaweista in the Oak Park Purse, feature of the day. Both were ridden by jockey P. Dyer, contract rider of the establishment. The Oak Park was a six furlongs affair and although Zacaweista has been showing to advantage in morning trials, he was neglected by the public. There was a long delay at the barrier, and the start was none too good, Crofton and Martis beginning poorly. Zacaweista lost little time in getting to the front and, racing in his best form, galloped the first half mile in :45% to have an advantage of four lengths as he made the turn for home. Racing well to midstretch, he increased his margin by a length at the eighth post and, although tiring slightly in the last sixteenth, won by almost three lengths. Rusty and Lahor both stuck gamely to their task in the stretch, and the latter lasted to beat Prose and Poetry, which was heralded as a possible winner previous to the race. The final time of the race was 1:12%. THREATENING WEATHER. The weather was very warm at the beginning of the days sport but with heavy rain clouds appearing in midafternoon the temperature took a drop, which was welcomed by the crowd. The gathering was rather light, and it was apparent that a heavy rain would develop before many hours had elapsed. The track was fast for the running of the feature race. Bertjohn, a good looking colt by Broadway Jones — Bulldoze, which races for E. R. Bradley, broke into the winning ranks in the first race by beating a large field of maiden juveniles. Running with rapid strides through the stretch, he wore down Vishnu, which had set the early pace, and was going away at the end. Vishnu held on well and was easily second, while Essential finished third. Baggage Maid, well backed, managed to get home in advance of a large band in the second race. The filly, which disappointed in her last start, lost little time in getting to the front and led for the remainder of the journey to hold Scotch Made safe. Third place was earned by Claret. The race was marred to some extent by crowding after the start and the chances of several possible contenders were lessened. Jockey J. McCoy had the mount on Baggage Maid. FIRST JUVENILE VICTORY. The Audley Farm Stable, which has many youngsters quartered at the track, won their first two-year-old race of the meeting when Sans Coin showed the way throughout in the third race. Beginning well from an inner post position, the filly opened up a safe lead in the early stages, but was ridden out to hold Escoba Land safe. Third place went to Lady Batts, which showed a game effort in overcoming early interference. It was the initial success for the winner, a daughter of Last Coin — Santissima. Calf Roper, which races for the Three Ds Stock Farm, came through with his fourth victory in five starts when he won the fourth race. Ridden in a forward position from the start, he was pocketed approaching the far turn but, finding racing room in the stretch, wore down Amyvale, the pacemaker, to win in a driving finish. Lahor, the high weight of the race, finished third. Calf Roper was the favorite and was piloted by jockey P. Dyer.
