BLACK JACKET raced forwardly from the start, responded when called upon and, shaking off the leaders in the stretch, drew away thereafter. TROMBONE, close up from the start, challenged gamely in the stretch and held on well. DESPOIL showed early speed, saved ground and held on gamely. INTEGRITY showed early speed and had no mishaps. VILLON was on the outside of the leaders all the way. SWEEPING LIGHT, bumped at the start, raced green thereafter. EPIDAWN finished well. GOOBER closed ground. CABEZO raced evenly. GREY COAT, under restraint until the far turn, moved up on the outside of the leaders and, drawing away in the stretch under mild urging, held TAIL SPIN safe. The latter, a trailer early, was taken around the leaders entering the stretch and finished fast. ROCKBELLE, rated along under restraint, raced PARTISAN into defeat and had no mishaps. ROYAL TREE tired under his weight. SIDNEY G. was away slowly. WHITE LIGHTNING finished fast. SOOTHER and HELEN GREEN were eased up at the end. NELSON quit.
