Sun Beau at Washington Park . + Arrives in Chicago for Engagement in the Francis S. Peabody Memorial, to Be Run Closing Day at Homewood Course • HOMEWOOD, 111., June 22.— Sun Beau, Willis Sharpe Kilmers great handicap horse, and their stable companions, arrived at Washington Park Sunday in charge of trainer Andrew Schuttinger. All stood the trip from New York in fine fashion and Sun Beau is to accept for the 0,000 added Francis S. Peabody Memorial Handicap, to be renewed at one mile and one-quarter on Saturday, closing day of the brilliant and successful Washington Park meeting. The sterling son of Sun Briar and Beautiful Lady was accompanied by Sun Falcon, also eligible for the Peabody Memorial; Sun Memory, Dark Magnet and Dark Secret. The remainder of the Kilmer Stable left at Belmont Park 2 goes from there to Saratoga following the Aqueduct meeting in charge of C. W. Carroll and Schuttinger ships to Saratoga from Arlington Park, where Sun Beau has several engagements. In the Peabody Memorial Sun Beau will encounter many of the outstanding western handicap stars and a few invaders. Gallant Knight, Mike Hall, Snowflake, Satin Spar, Pigeon Hole, Plucky Play, Paul Bunyan, Lady Broadcast and Morpheus are the best of those expected to oppose the Kilmer veteran. Sunday morning saw Mike Hall in a very impressive trial as preparation for the race, while Pigeon Hole and Snowflake will have preliminary tests when they contest the mile Cedar Lake Purse Tuesday. Trainer Walter Taylor sent Mike Hall the Peabody Memorial distance and, while restrained throughout, he traversed the ten furlongs in 2:06% breezing. He ran the half mile in :50, three-quarters in 1:15% and the mile in 1:40%. •
