Starter Palmer came down from Toronto for a short time. He returns to the Canadian city next week. Scott Harlan resigned as trainer for Walter M. Jeffords and the horses will be turned over to Preston M. Burch on July 1. Trainer Sammy Smith stated that The Beasel hurt herself in her stall and will be an absentee for some time. Morstone, which was recently purchased from B. Block, is also on the ailing list. ■
