AGUA CALIENTE NOTES 4 m Jockey J. Cochlin, who recently rode three winners in one day at this track, is ready to return to the saddle. He has been laid up with a cold. Nominations for the Agua Caliente Derby, the Oaks, the Senorita Stakes, the Don Stakes and the Agua Caliente Futurity have closed, and racing secretary Dunne reports that all are well filled. The erratic thoroughbred, Judge Murphy has been barred from starting at this course except in steeplechase races. This ruling was handed down by the stewards today. G. W. Crippens useful four-year-old Sun-shot Runahior gelding, My Shot, died. Starter Cassidys schooling list has reached a total of twenty-two bad post actors. He and his assistants are busy each morning with the hope that this number wilL be greatly decreased in a short time. Edgar Wallace, noted English horseman and novelist, and Michael Beary, the great European jockey, were officially greeted on their arrival at the International Line Saturday by Thomas Gorman, who acted oh behalf of the Agua Caliente Jockey Club. Cabezo, crack three-year-old, owned by W. T. Anderson, and candidate for the Agua Caliente Derby and Agua Caliente Handicap, left Columbia, S. C, in. a special express car, bound for Agua Caliente Friday, according to word received here today by Jack P. Atkin. Cabezo comes consigned to the Pasadena Stable, of which Atkin is the owner, and will be trained for his major stakes by L. O. Lee. The colt won six races in New York last season and was considered the best youngster uncovered in fall racing. With him comes a number of well-bred two-year-olds. Word was received from Edward Haugh-ton that Wotan would not be withdrawn from the Agua Caliente Handicap. Owner Kenneth Dawes announced his intention of allowing Marine to remain in the field. Jockey" Steve ODorinell, who rode Mike Hall to victory in the Agua Caliente Handicap last season, accepfed his first mount in some time when he rode Royal Doulton in the sixth race Friday. Guy Weadlick, well known rodeo promoter, was a visitor. Weadlick is the man behind the Calgary stampede, famous as the worlds greatest annual wild west show. 4 Loversall, juvenile victor in a field of fifteen Friday, comes from Meadowbrook Stock Farm, trained by Bill Finnegan, a stabe which ran away with juvenile honors here a year ago. Jockey V. Moore was an arrival from Tan-foran and has applied for a license. Willie Shaw, one-time peer of riders, visited the Agua Caliente cqurse today . and expects to remain for some time.
