PARNELL BOUND, racing strongly under restraint for half a mile, raced into the lead fast when called upon entering the stretch and won with speed to spare. DANCING BOY, hard ridden, improved his position steadily on the outside, responded gamely and wore downMORTIME in the closing sixteenth. MORTIME, quickest to start and showing the most early speed, tired in the stretch. BOUNDER, prominent until midway aroundlhe turn, failed to respond when placed under urging. SIR BARLEY, hard urged from the start, gradually worked his way up and disposed of STAR ROYAL in the final. drive. The latter, used up forcing the pace and, racing REGAL KNIGHT into defeat, tired in the drive. IGNITE was cksing gamely at the end. STARBOARD LIGHT began slowly, but could not get up. PATRICK CALLAHAN began fast, but tired in the stretch. MARGARET PARKER tired in the final quarter. CHIANTI began in close quarters and could not get clear for three-eighths. CELTIC PRINCE, away slowly, gained with a rush on the turn and, continuing gamely, finished fast. BLACK WATCH, hard urged on the back stretch, set a fast pace for about five-eighths, then tired. TACK tired after setting the early pace. GRIFFIN, forwardly placed and allowed to settle fully in stride, went to the leaders on the final turn and continued well thereafter. BIRD OF PREY, rated forwardly in the early stages, was done after three-quarters. SCARLET BRIGADE forced a good pace until leaving the back stretch, then tired. The latter, on the inside and in close quarters, was unable to come through in the stretch. FRANCES ST. L. finished resolutely. BIG BO and STELVIO showed flashes of speed.
