AQUEDUCT STAKE BLANKS OUT Long List of Rich and Historic Races Closes February 1. Brooklyn, Carter and Queens County "Handicaps and Shevlin Tremont and Hund-son Stakes Among Features. NEW YORK, N. Y., Jan. 12 The entry blanks for the stakes to be run at the 1932 spring and summer meetings of the Queens County Jockey Club at the Aqueduct course are now being distributed to horsemen by Henry C. Pebler, racing secretary. The closing date is set for Monday, February 1. During the twenty-two days of the meeting1 at Aqueduct, which starts oh Friday, June 10, and continues up to and including Tuesday, July 5, there will be twenty-three major events decided. President John E. Cowdins innovation in having the entries for the Dwyer Stakes close prior "to the holidays met with such a gratifying response from owners of the best of the thoroughbred world that additional efforts are being put forth to have the remaining twenty-two features measure up in quantity and quality with the his-tdric Dwyer and thus enhance the reputation the Aqueduct course has among thoroughbred owners and racegoers as one of the most popular courses in the country. The list of stakes closing February 1 comprises the historic Brooklyn Handicap, also the Carter, Brookdale, Queens County and Broadway Handicaps; the Speculation Claiming Handicap and the Shevlin, Gazelle, Union, Great American, Tremont, Hudson, Clover, Astoria, Canarsie and Woodhaven Stakes, with the Myrtle and Rockaway Claiming Stakes, and the Gleridale, Winfield, Bayside and Wheatley Steeplechase Handicaps. The popular Brooklyn Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, at one mile and an eighth, has 0,000 added, and an estimated value of 4,000. The Great American, for two-year-olds, has ,000 added, and is expected to gross 4,000. It is a sprint of five furlongs and a leading summer event for juveniles with championship aspirations. Winners of the Great American invariably go on to greater achievements. The Glen-dale Steeplechase Handicap has ,000 added, and an estimated value of ,000. The Carter Handicap, one of the magnets in the three-year-old division, over seven furlongs, has. ,000 added and will probably gross ,500.
