LUCKY TOM IN TO? FORM Works Fast Mile in Preparation for Engagement in Florida and Louisiana Derbys. NEW ORLEANS, La., Feb. 16. J. J. Robinsons Lucky Tom, with A. Pascuma in the saddle, worked a mile in 1:44, easily, over the Fair Grounds track this morning. The trial was an important part of his preparation for such coming engagements as the Florida Derby, to be run at Hialeah Park a week from Saturday, and the Louisiana Derby, to be run for the first time as a Fair Grounds attraction March 19, closing day of the meeting. The crack son of Master Charlie and Phyllis Louise tried in every way to run faster, but Pascuma never lightened the "double wraps" taken after the three-year-old had settled into good stride, and he went the entire distance hard held. For the first quarter he was timed in :25 and, after going a half mile in :51, completed three-quarters in 1:18. H. C. Riddle, trainer of the Robinson star, is well pleased with him in every way and, barring mishap, will have him at Hialeah Park early next week.
