MAY ABANDON STEEPLECHASES Unless unforeseen opposition develops, steeplechasing will not be included in the program for the next annual mid-summer meeting of the Arlington Jockey Club, according to present plans of the management. The matter will be taken up with the National Hunts Association and if no serious objection develops the thirty-day meeting, opening June 27, will be devoid of events for jumpers, it was said.
