RUBRIDGE worked his way up on the turn and, responding gamely under urging, wore down NORWALK and was going away in the final strides. NORWALK drew clear with a rush midway around the turn and, saving ground thereafter, tired in the stretch. AFRIDI, hard urged throughout, finished fast on the outside. MISS BROOM, away well, finished gamely under vigorous riding and outlasted JEAN BROWN. The latter, in close quarters for an eighth, gained steadily when clear and was wearing down the winner in the closing strides. NUNS WAY outran the others out of the chute and swerved over sharply entering the main track, took command, then tired. DUSKY DAME was interfered with early, but finished well when clear. BRANDY was racing strongly at the end. ANIMATE began fast and was prominent for a quarter, then was crowded back. SERETTE raced evenly. LAST BID was pulled up after the start. The latter moved up fast on the outside entering the stretch, but was forced wide by MEMORIES DEAR, responded gamely when straightened out in the stretch and held on tenaciously in the closing eighth. THURSDAY moved up resolutely on the stretch turn, but tried to bear over to the inside in the stretch. EVEN UP finished resolutely.
