LADY SUNBEAM, away forwardly and close up, came gamely under pressure in the stretch and outlasted DARK WAR in the final drive. The latter, forced to race wide in the early stages, continued gamely and was wearing down the winner. WANDEROO tired in the final drive. SUPER PURCHASE challenged gamely in the last eighth, but could not get up. LILLIAN Z., away well, swerved to the inside entering the stretch and tired. GAY ATTIRE began slowly. MORTIME showed good speed in opening up a long lead, but quit badly in the stretch. PARTIES improved her position. MECLONA quit. SUNNY SUSAN raced evenly. ORKIN, away slowly, closed a big gap on the outside. DANCING BOY came through on the inside, but could not overtake the leaders. WAVE TOP raced better than the chart shows. DOUBLE HEART moved up resolutely on the inside under punishment on the turn and was going gamely at the end. PENNATE tired in the last sixteenth after being close up all the way.
