CANCEL AGUA CALIENTE CUP AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, March 23. Because most of the horses that were nominated for the Agua Caliente Cup have shipped away, president James N. Crofton today decided to cancel that event and substitute an overnight handicap at the same distance, one and one-half miles, as feature for closing day. The race will carry a value of ,500, the same as the Agua Caliente Cup, and it is expected to attract the pick of the distance horses on the grounds, many of which were not nominated for the Cup.
